SBI Clerk 2016 Recruitment Cancelled — The State Bank of India conducted SBI clerk prelims exam from 22nd May to 29th May in online mode. Earlier the bank issued a notification for 17410 junior associates and agriculture associates in clerical cadre vacancies. As usally, large number of candidates applied and also appeared the prelims online test and they are waiting for the SBI clerk results, which will be released on 7th June 2016.
A candidate from the Tamilnadu state filed a PIL against the state bank of India to eliminate crazy eligibility criteria on loans to apply for the SBI clerk recruitment 2016. After hearing the matter, the high court passed the orders to cancel this clerical recruitment.
The Main Reason to Cancel SBI Clerk Recruitment 2016 Notification
S. Gurukrishna Gokul has filed a PIL on 25th May demanding the elimination of eligibility, which was newly introduced in SBI clerk recruitment for the first time in the history.
According to the SBI clerk 2016 eligibility criteria, any candidate guilty of default in repayment of loans should be debarred from taking the sbi clerk exam and thus should not be eligible for the junior associates and agriculture associates clerk exam. So, the large number of economically and socially backward candidates are hurted by this decision.
The Madras High court sent orders to the State Bank of India to cancel the SBI clerk recruitment 2016 process immediately.

There are only 2 options available to the state bank of India, they are
- Cancel this clerical recruitment process and issue a fresh notification by changing the eligibility criteria as per the court orders.
- Getting stay from the court to continue the recruitment process as per schedule.
